Wood carvings and sculptures are the result of a sculptor’s hard work. The sculpture is first shaped with gouge and mallet; it is then carefully sanded with extra fine sand paper and hereafter hued, lacquered or waxed. This is art, isn’t it? Much time too. If you appreciate figured wood, you will like walnut or olive wood sculptures. The last trend is to tree root carvings; “crude” roots are naturally beautiful. |
