I have been a cabinetmaker for about ten years in the beautiful Vosges department. My creations are inspired by the nature around and realized with a love for woodworking that has motivated me since my early youth.
I started as a hand-crafter making wooden seats, and acquired the volume techniques. Then as a cabinetmaker I have learned how to master the art of marquetry. This know-how allows me today to combine volume work with marquetry decoration. I like to create my models, which are all unique in their robes and their shapes and by the quality of the wood species I use.
I work many kinds of wood, either European or exotic hardwoods or veneers.
My furniture and seats are all made following the traditional technique of joining feet with a transverse or assembling drawers... Varnish is used as a finish and a water tint as well, which is more resistant to sun and weather agents. I apply the appropriate varnish for each type and style of furniture, either with a hand pad damped in patina or with a varnish pistol for the bottom layer, then a polyurethane layer and a beeswax finish. I can also finish with a tarred wax patina or a lacquer on request.
I offer advice, design and construction of high standard furniture.
